Advanced PC/Gaming Settings

The Advanced / Gaming PC configuration is designed for users on a budget who are looking for the best possible gaming experience, but without forgetting value for money. In other words, we are going to look for really powerful components, valid for playing at high resolution and editing video, but without going through the roof at any time.

Luckily, the shortage of graphics cards has practically come to an end, so we can get an upgraded PC with a GPU without any big problems. Our target price would range between €1,100 and €1,400 approximately, but in this situation it could be more.

The Ryzen 7 5800X is the most powerful desktop processor ever made by AMD. It’s not only fast, but it’s also powerful, making it a great choice for gaming. But this powerful chip doesn’t come cheap.

This is where the CPU Cooler comes into the picture. If you are looking for the best cooling for ryzen 7 5800x, then you have come to the right place.

In any case, you will see how we justify each component choice, which we make in a reasonable and measured way, so that you have a team that is excellent in terms of performance, durable, capable of overclocking, and even beautiful, without leaving too much money on the way. or waste on unnecessary things. Let’s go there!

As main components for this team we have chosen the AMD Ryzen 7 5800X and the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti.

For the processor band, the Ryzen 7 5800X has 8 cores and 16 threads of high performance. This means, on the one hand, that we have a number of cores that goes beyond what current games require, preparing the PC for the future that may come. On the other hand, we have the possibility to do much more than play games on this PC, thanks to such a processor.

As for the graphics card, this is one of the latest releases from NVIDIA, which aims to supply even gamers in 4K resolution, which, thanks to the greater number of cores and better memories, manages to exceed 60 FPS at this resolution in practically all games.

This is not the only graphics card that we can consider suitable for this configuration. We can also take into account, for the NVIDIA band, the RTX 3070 and RTX 3060 Ti, and for the AMD band the RX 6800 and RX 6700 XT.

With such a variable situation in the GPU market, and given the possibility that the 3070 Ti will rise to an exorbitant price (it came out for 620 euros), we also offer you the same configurations with these graphics cards:

Choice of components

We are going to see the reason for the choice of the other components of this configuration.

The amount of RAM memory is 16GB. This is still the « standard amount » today, perfectly suitable for all kinds of uses, while maintaining good multitasking. In any case, an update to 32GB could be considered, but in this budget it has seemed the most interesting. It is important that the RAM speed is good, in this case 3600MHz.

The motherboard is a Gigabyte B550 Aorus Elite. We choose the B550 chipset as it is the most interesting for such a configuration: going to an X570 motherboard would be an unnecessary additional expense. Also, this Aorus Elite is great, because for a relatively low price it gives us a good VRM and good performance.

Obviously, if you need to, you can buy a separate mechanical hard drive, where we recommend the Seagate Barracuda 2TB, but we think most people won’t need it.

We continue through the power supply. Here we have chosen the Corsair RM850, which is perhaps at a slightly higher level than we would be interested in in this configuration, but the truth is that it gives us a good guarantee for the future due to its 850W of power, its 10-year warranty and its high quality. The font is the true heart of the team, so we don’t skimp on it.

Should you choose Intel or AMD? we give you the keys

Although fewer and fewer, many people automatically rule out AMD processors in a PC configuration. Doing this is a bad thing, because it means that the user cannot benefit from the competition that exists between the main processor manufacturers.

This “veto” of AMD that some have is based on things from the past: a few years ago, the company’s processors were behind Intel in architecture, performance, efficiency… But with the arrival of Ryzen, this situation was reversed. Now, they are even able to offer better CPUs than Intel. Check this out in our look at AMD’s evolution over the last 10 years .

And what is there to choose in this particular configuration? Here a very important factor is the price, since we are not dealing with combinations of CPU and motherboard that play in the same league. The Intel processor is more expensive, the DDR5 RAM is more expensive, and the motherboard is more expensive, but performs better. In contrast, the 5800X is  much better priced.

  • There are fewer chips due to the pandemic, and this affects any segment, including the automotive industry, for example.
  • Among that shortage of chips stands out that of display drivers, which are used in graphics cards.
  • The charts are targeted by people engaged in cryptocurrency mining, which is booming.

Our advanced / gaming PC configuration is absolutely ideal to get the best possible performance at more or less reasonable prices. So when it comes to deciding on a case, cooling, power supply, and more, we look for the best balance between quality and price, and pair it with mid-high or high-end core components that deliver the best possible performance.

Obviously, all this from the perspective of a team that looks towards the high end, so it could be said that the balance between quality and price is «70/30».

Our allies here have been the AMD Ryzen 7 5800X and Intel Core i7-12700K processors, and the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti graphics card. We have accompanied them with components that were up to par in quality and performance, but without excesses.
