If your iPhone’s performance has slowed down or you find yourself with limited space, one of the most effective ways to speed up your device and free up space is to clear the cache, history, and cookies from your device. These steps will take only a few minutes of your time and can make all the difference in how smoothly your iPhone works throughout the day. Ready to learn how? Read on!

Step 1: Backup your data

iPhone by Clearing the Cache, History, and Cookies: Step 1 – Backup your data. If you’re moving or getting a new phone, it’s smart to make sure you’ve backed up all of your information from the current phone. Do this by going into Settings>General>Storage & iCloud Usage>iPhone Storage and clicking on the red circled Back Up Now button at the bottom. Next, go into Settings>Privacy>Location Services and turn on the green Location Services switch before tapping on Privacy (next to Location Services) for two seconds until a pop-up appears with Let App Send Read Notifications. Step 2: Clear your browser history

The internet is stored in the cache, history, and cookies. The way they work together to function on your browser is called the pipeline. Once you’ve set up a pipeline, it works the same way every time you go online with your browser, until you change the setup and make it different. Clearing the cache and history deletes any old or unnecessary records in these files that may be causing your iPhone or other device to slow down and use up more memory than necessary. Clearing caches helps keep your browser running fast by freeing up space for new caches, so this process is vital if your phone is running slowly.

Step 3: Clear your photo album

When you have a bunch of photo albums, your phone starts running slow. You can speed it up by clearing the cache, history, and cookies. Tap on the Settings app on your iPhone then select General. Go down to Storage & iCloud Usage, and you will see all of the folders for different categories of data on your phone. Tap on the one labeled Photos or whichever album is causing you problems. Next, select Delete Photos. This will free up space for other apps and for new photos by keeping the old ones out of sight until you want them back. Hit done and voila!

Step 4: Clean out your apps

After clearing the cache, history, and cookies, it is time to clean out your apps. Follow these steps: 1) Tap and hold on an app until all the options appear. 2) Scroll over to the X and tap it 3) When you see a message that says Delete App? tap Delete then confirm your choice by tapping Delete again 4) Repeat with any other apps you want to remove. 5) Click Done This will clear up any lingering caches or information that may be in these deleted apps.

If you are experiencing slowness with your apps, clearing out your cache can help. Clearing out your history and cookies also helps speed up your browser performance as well. If you’re having trouble with slow app loading or sluggishness on older devices like an iPad Air 1 or iPhone 6 Plus, cleaning out old app caches can help make those apps run faster.
