Introduction

The best thing about Uttarakhand is that it comes with a myriad of treks. Almost every region and the state has its own distinct origin story, culture and tradition to be cherished. Therefore, trekking in Uttarakhand can never be done without experiencing these treks.

Treks in Uttarakhand is not an easy task. It requires a lot of strength and determination to trek the mountain trails in this region. There are several treks one can experience. Some treks would prove to be scary while others would be safe and comfortable.

Uttarakhand is the northwest region of India, with legendary Himalayan mountain peaks, emerald-green valleys, and serene lakes. When you visit one of its many trekking trails, you quickly break through the crowds and into a wilderness that has yet to be touched by modern civilization. Uttarakhand, “the abode of the Gods,” is one of India’s most beautiful states. Within its hilly borders lies a landscape that would put some National Parks to shame.

Forests of oak, chestnut, and rhododendron cover the hillsides, while in the valleys and gorges there are fields of tea, ginger, or rice. King cobras roam the grasslands and ospreys nest on the cliffs, but if you’re looking for people there are villages and towns everywhere, as well as bustling pilgrimage hubs.
