Toyota Innova Zenix Will Be Unveiled Soon

The Toyota Innova Zenix, which will be unveiled today at 8 p.m., is now officially being teased by UMW Toyota Motor (UMWT). The third-generation MPV made its maiden appearance in November of last year and was just recently spotted on a carrier.

You can register your interest at a special page on Toyota Malaysia’s website, where you’ll also see a portion of the face of the Toyota Innova Zenix.

Two Dynamic Force engine powertrains are available for the Innova Zenix. The first vehicle is a hybrid with an M20A-FXS 2.0 litre four-cylinder normally aspirated petrol engine that produces 152 PS at 6,000 rpm and 187 Nm of torque between 4,400 and 5,200 rpm. For a total system output of 186 PS, an electric motor with ratings of 113 PS and 205 Nm is added.

The alternative employs a 2.0 litre M20A-FKS engine rated at 174 PS at 6,600 rpm and 205 Nm between 4,500 and 4,900 rpm. Both configurations produce more power and torque than the previous 1TR-FE 2.0 litre engine and include a CVT (e-CVT for the hybrid) on the previous Innova, which produced 139 PS and 183 Nm. Given UMWT’s position on hybrids and its multi-pathway strategy for achieving carbon neutrality, there is a good chance that it will provide both to Malaysian automobile consumers.

The new Innova Zenix converts to a monocoque design based on the GA-C form of the Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA), unlike its predecessor, which was built on the IMV ladder frame chassis.

It is just slightly longer than the earlier Innova, measuring 4,755 mm long and 1,850 mm wide, but the wheelbase has increased by 100 mm to 2,850 mm, making it longer than the Proton X90, which has a 2,805 mm length. The riding height of 185 mm and the approach and departure angles from the second-generation model are retained.

The Innova Zenix offers two different interior seating arrangements: a 2-2-3 configuration with seven seats (the middle row are captain chairs), and a 2-3-3 arrangement with an eight-person second-row bench. The seating configurations for the three rows of the X90 are 2-2-2 and 2-3-2.
