Need help with your kitchen’s tech setup? Make the most of it with these ten tips for using kitchen technology effectively!
The innovations of modern technology have changed the culinary landscape. Since technological advancements have come a long way since the days of iceboxes and chiming kitchen timers, they should be taken into account when designing a new kitchen remodeling process. These are some of our favorite additions to a truly smart kitchen.
It’s a Google Home
You may use voice-controlled kitchen assistants like Google Home and Alexa to set multiple timers, find recipes in a flash, and even have them read aloud. Simply request a podcast or make a special “Kitchen” playlist to listen to as you cook, and the task will become both more manageable and more enjoyable.
Rechargeable Battery Packs
A built-in charging station concealed in a drawer is one of our favorite features. This not only keeps your electronics fully charged and out of sight, but it also frees up valuable counter space (and maybe, out of mind).
Automatically opening sink faucets that detect your touch
In terms of actual use in the kitchen, this new device may be the best of all the innovations. Touchless kitchen faucets allow you to control the water flow with the wave of a hand, wrist, arm, or elbow. You won’t have to worry about making a bigger mess while trying to wipe your hands, so it’s ideal for when you need to get your hands clean quickly.
Tablets and other small-screen electronic devices can provide entertainment or information while cooking. You can set aside a shelf specifically for the TV, or you can be crafty by concealing it in a kitchen cabinet, but either way, you’ll need to make provisions for the cable connection and the routing of the cables.
Home cooking gear
Although high-tech kitchen gadgets aren’t strictly necessary, they are a lot of fun to play with. Choose a stove you can operate from your phone, a garbage can you can open with the wave of a hand, and a microwave that adapts its settings based on how often you use it if you want to go all out with kitchen technology. Keep in mind, though, that high-tech kitchen appliances may need to be changed more frequently than their low-tech counterparts as technology continues to advance at a rapid pace.
Tossing Bowl Device
It’s true that this solution is very antiquated, but it serves a technological purpose. We think it’s a great idea to have a huge dish in the middle of your table where guests are expected to put their phones when they sit down to eat. This guarantees a tech-free meal, where people can actually talk to each other without their phones in the way, and enjoy a much-needed respite from their favorite gadgets.
Don’t forget to think about the kitchen technology when designing your kitchen because it can make cooking and working in the kitchen easier and more enjoyable.
