Business is about minimizing costs and maximizing profits. To minimize costs, you need to be careful with the amount of money you put into marketing your business. Whether you are new or old in the online marketing industry, you may have a limited advertising budget to market your website. Even if you had the resources, you need to minimize your costs to stay in business. So, free online marketing is an important part of growing your online business. Do you agree?

When I was just getting started with online marketing, I spent a lot of money hoping to make quick returns in no time. I dug deep into my pockets to spend on various methods designed to drive traffic to my site. At first I thought I would make money online as soon as possible. Hmmm! That was not the case. I realized that if I kept spending without going back to the drawing board to reorganize, I would end up wasting my resources on what couldn’t work for me. I have therefore decided to forgo free online marketing.

Did you know online marketers are there to make money? Yes, that’s what we’re in business for. But when it comes to online marketing making money, some marketers really exaggerate. I always visit sites with ads that make me laugh. Do you know why? That’s because I once fell for those “earn $2,000 in 72 hours” ads. Most marketers create urgency for you by making you feel like you will be making money within hours. But it is not that simple.

While it is possible to make quick money online, it may not be easy for new marketers. I do not discourage you from using paid online marketing methods. They certainly work. But what I warn you against is spending your hard-earned cash on marketing methods you don’t fully understand how they really work. That is why it is good for newbies to use free online marketing methods first when gaining the online business experience.

There are many free online marketing methods out there, but I just want to share with you six methods that I have used and found effective.

1. Article marketing is a very effective free online marketing method that most eminent and experienced marketers use to drive a steady stream of visitors to their websites. All you have to do is write your own articles on topics related to your niche and manually submit them to article directories that won’t charge you a dime. Your challenge here is to consistently produce articles and have a list of article directories for your article submission.

2. Sign up for an account with Google to use their free online marketing tools like eBlogger , Google Webmaster Tools, Google Analytics, Google Sitemaps, Google AdSense , Google Writely , Google Content Submission, Google Alerts, and Google Froogle . These are promotional tools that you can use without paying a coin to increase traffic to your website. Your challenge is to learn how to use them.

3. Use word of mouth to tell people you meet personally about your online presence. Don’t underestimate word of mouth; it works wonders for me. I always ask people to visit my website and the response is always good.

4. Use social networks to reach many people with whom you share the same interests. Social networks are an effective free online marketing tool that has a proven track record. There are many social sites, but the most popular sites are Facebook , Twitter, LinkedIn, MySpace, Ning , Google++, Tagged, Badoo , MyLife , and Friendster .

5. Forum Marketing is another free online marketing method that you shouldn’t miss. It is so often used by experienced online marketers. You just have to join forums and become an active member. You will start to see traffic coming to your site from forums.

6. Social bookmarking is a system whereby members of the same network can list websites that are made available to other members of the network. Just like social networks, social bookmarking is a method that has become a big deal for internet users. Social bookmarking sites mainly include Twitter, Squidoo , StumbleUpon , reddit , Blinklist , Clipmarks , etc…

After exploring and utilizing free online marketing opportunities, you can now use paid traditional and online advertising to reach more customers and grow your business. But don’t underestimate the effectiveness of free online marketing. It can really help you build your business. You just have to invest your time to do something every day, you will win. Without doubt!

Organic Online Marketing: How to get all aspects right, not just SEO

Search Engine Optimization or SEO is an aspect of organic online marketing approach to drive traffic to your website or blog and improve your search engine ranking. Organic online marketing is a social strategy that requires word of mouth and referrals on social media.

Organic marketing is the most cost-effective form of online advertising and is growing exponentially. An online marketer can use the organic marketing approach properly and generate the necessary traffic to place their websites in the top search engines and ranking websites.

I’m not saying SEO isn’t critical, I’m just saying it’s not the only thing. As an online marketer, having a website that is properly constructed, organized, tagged with the right keywords, and offers valuable, relevant content. There are many other factors, but that is not the focus of this article. SEO is just one step in a much larger process that I call organic online marketing.

Traffic is key to any online marketing strategy and organic marketing is what drives traffic today. As social media grows, it continues to influence how and where marketing budgets are allocated. About 10% of clicked Google search results are paid ads.

Also, consumer reviews are over 11 times more effective because they are trusted more. Consumers are more likely to believe a third party than manufacturer claims. Think from your perspective. When you hear a company say you will make $1000 a month, do you believe them or do you believe the person using the product and providing you with proof of income?

Of the 90% who click the organic results, 46% click the first organic result listed. As online marketing professionals, we see that our placement and rank drives our sales. So what drives our rank and rating? Traffic! So what drives traffic when paid advertising on the web is only 10% effective? social media.

Using social media will drive traffic and offering valuable content will keep it there. Organic online marketing is more than just search engine optimization. It solves your prospect’s problem in a non-invasive way and allows your prospect to “shop” in a safe, near-anonymous environment. Once they see the value, they’ll inquire more about your product or even subscribe to your RSS (Really Simple Syndication) feeds.

So, yes, having a fully optimized website is important, but it’s not the whole strategy. For example, I build my organic online marketing strategy and it includes a blog that I write articles for and I optimize for proper SEO (which is a bloody science!). But I also post my articles on a variety of websites and blogs with backlinks to promote the article and ultimately my website. I also work on forums, free classifieds sites, and social media like Twitter, Facebook , and Google+ (which is still in beta at the time of writing this article).

True organic marketing doesn’t stop at SEO, it involves all forms of online media because bridging from your beautifully optimized website is the only thing that brings in the traffic needed to improve your page rank. Without traffic, no SEO in the world will help you. So if you build the bridges and spread awareness about the solution you offer to give people the reward they are looking for, the traffic will come and your laser-focused content will do the selling for you.

With the “social” aspect of the Internet, word of mouth will bring new traffic. When people tweet about your solution, post comments about your fan page, or like your fan page, more traffic will come and your page ranking and Alexa rating will increase. There are other tricks to improve your ranking, but the true way to ranking is by driving traffic, and as an online marketing professional, you need to be aware of this if you are a recipe blogger or a sports equipment retailer are at a network marketer selling dietary supplements online social etiquette to be successful.

As competition on the internet increases, it’s imperative that marketers don’t overlook the full scope of online marketing and forget that social media is key . Search engine optimization is an important part of the organic online marketing approach, but online marketing has become a social strategy that is inexpensive and growing fast. An online marketing professional needs to implement an organic marketing approach in order to generate the necessary traffic to rank their websites in the top search engines and ranking sites.online marketing
