How to draw a cartoon skeleton

How to draw a cartoon skeleton. The structure is one of the numerous important structures in the body. Most living things have a skeleton, which helps provide a strong structure to the body and protect vulnerable organs. The skeleton comprises many different bones and ligaments that connect.

This can make it difficult to draw correctly, even when more stylized. Even learning to draw a cartoon skeleton can be quite difficult if you don’t have a few steps to follow. Luckily, this tutorial is here to help you achieve that goal while having fun.

Our step-by-step manual on removing a funny frame in just 6 easy actions will guide you on how to recreate this cool technique! You can draw many more characters like bow and arrow drawing, Anubis drawing, cat drawing, cobra drawing, blueberry drawing, coconut drawing and many more drawing for kids

How to draw a cartoon skeleton

Step 1:

We’ll start at the top in this first step of our guide on drawing a cartoon skeleton. This means that we will start with the skull of this skeleton. We go for a cartoon style to create an exaggerated expression for the face.

Use a rounded line for the top of the skull; then, you can use smaller angled lines to outline the face and teeth. The mouth will also open, as shown in the reference image.

Then draw the details of the eyes, nose, and teeth in this outline. We will also add curved lines to the side of the skull. After drawing the small neck sections, we are ready for the second step of the guide!

Step 2:

Going down this cartoon skeleton drawing, we will now add the rib cage and part of the spine. The rib cage will have a thin section in the center; then, the ribs can be drawn with curved lines.

The spine below this rib cage will be drawn using several smaller segments that connect the same way the neck was drawn.

Step 3:

This third step of our guide on how to draw a cartoon skeleton will see you adding arms to the skeleton. The left arm will rest on the hips, while the right arm will be extended to look like the skeleton is resting on something.

The arms are made up of several bones; you should do your best to reproduce them exactly as they appear in our example. Let’s finish with the segmented hands; then, we can move on to the fourth part of the guide.

Step 4:

We will focus on the bottom half of the drawing for the next sections of this cartoon skeleton. First, we’ll draw the hips. The hips are drawn with curved lines, and you can add a few small round shapes inside the outline to show where the holes are.

Then add two more long hip bones for the upper leg halves. Once they’ve been drawn, we’re ready to add the final elements and details in the next step of the guide.

Step 5:

In this fifth step of our guide on how to draw a cartoon skeleton, we will add the final elements of the skeleton. This means that we will draw the legs’ lower halves. To start, draw long, thin bones for the shins of the legs. The right leg will be crossed over the left one to complete the capricious position in which the skeleton is.

We will then draw the feet at the ends of these bones, and like other aspects of this cartoon skeleton, they will be drawn in several sections. Once these legs are finished, you might as well have fun customizing this design further! Would you like to draw a scary background for this cartoon skeleton to complete it?

Step 6:

You’re almost done with this cartoon skeleton design, but one aspect is missing. We’ll fix that in this last step when we’re done with some colors! Our reference image kept the colors a little more subdued and realistic.

To do this, we used black for the eyes, nose, and mouth, then lighter shades of beige and brown for the skeletal bones. You can use similar colors for your version if you like this more realistic approach,

But feel free to use other colors you prefer! It’s a great opportunity to have fun and get creative with your colors and art mediums, so how will you complete it?

This is how you can make your skeleton drawing even better…

Create your frame sketch, actually; okay with these suggestions! This drawing of a skeleton looks great on its own, but it would look even better with some skeleton friends by your side! If you follow the guide again, you can create fun skeleton situations.

They could have the same pose as this starter or have a unique pose to make it more interesting. What scenarios could you create with more skeletons? Of course, you don’t have to stick with human skeletons. You can add a fun touch by giving this human skeleton a pet by its side!

It could be anything from a dog to a parrot to a fish. The chosen animal skeleton could be drawn in a cartoon style similar to that particular skeleton. Then they could even be placed in a fun pose to create a scene. For example, if you add a skeleton dog, you can play concurrently!

What other animals could you add? Another way to personalize this skeleton design would be to put it on clothes. You could use lots of fun outfits and accessories for this idea! It can be as simple as giving her a top hat and a cane, or you can opt for a costume with accessories.

If you added other skeletons, putting each one in a unique costume or outfit might be fun. What fashion look would you like to wear for this skeleton? Finally, we think it would finish this skeleton sketch nicely if you added a background. Some backgrounds would be perfect for a skeleton.

For example, it would fit perfectly in a cemetery setting, making your image even more fun and scary. It’s just an idea; you might want to use something less typical for your artwork background setting. What other backgrounds could you create?
