Ferrari 296 2023: Face Challenges From Aston Martin

In order to concentrate on limited-edition halo vehicles like the Valkyrie and Valhalla, Aston Martin has postponed the development of a conventional mid-engined supercar that will compete with the Ferrari 296 2023.

With the Vanquish Vision concept, the manufacturer declared its intention to take on the Ferrari 296 GTB, McLaren Artura, and Lamborghini Huracán in 2019. The brand’s focus, according to chairman Lawrence Stroll, would be on profitability and uniqueness; it will not produce a typical mid-engined car.

In its first coupé configuration, the Valhalla will only be produced in 999 copies to compete with the Ferrari, he continued. It will be constructed around a carbon fibre monocoque being created by the Aston Martin Performance Technologies division, which was recently established in the new Silverstone plant for the Aston Martin Formula 1 team.

Stroll stated that the car will be “as impressive” as the Valkyrie because the wind tunnel there will also be used to perfect its aerodynamics. Additionally, it will be the first hybrid Aston Martin, using a turbocharged plug-in V8 from technical partner Mercedes-AMG.

The brand-new, custom eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, which will also be used on other upcoming Aston Martin cars, connects the 4.0-liter engine to the rear axle at 7200 revolutions per minute. With two electric motors, one for each axle, together, it will create more than 1000 horsepower, positioning the Valhalla to compete with the Ferrari SF90 Stradale and aiming for a Nürburgring lap time of 6 minutes and 30 seconds.
