A Brief Introduction to C# As a Coding Language

Did you know that the programming language C# was created in 2002? If you are getting into the world of programming and want to learn more about C# coding language, you are in the right place. We have put together this short guide sharing all the ins and outs of C#.

Read on to learn more, including what it is and why it’s so popular.

What Is C#?

C# is also pronounced C sharp. It is a programming language that came to be to help overcome the disadvantages of C and C++ programming languages. Microsoft decided to develop this programming language to help programmers or developers build applications to run on the .NET framework.

C# can develop applications such as windows, web, database, and distributive applications. Compared to other languages this is a simple and easy to learn programming language.

One main reason that C# has become so popular is because it is familiar and simple. This program has simplified the job a programmer has because when it was created it avoided certain difficult features from C and C++.

An example of this simplification is that memory management in C# is automatic, making it easier. Because it is automatic, there is no chance of dealing with memory leakage. For those that have experience with using C and C++, using C# is fairly easy because it has many of the same features, but in a simplified way.

Another reason C# is popular is because it is portable. This allows developers and programmers to write the same code for different operating systems. Portability comes from both IL Code portability and Source Code portability.

A third reason for its popularity is that it is distributed. This means that programmers can develop distributed applications and the resources can be shared by more than one client. Applications that are shared by more than one client are considered a distributed application.

One last reason worth mentioning is that C# is not dependent on one platform. Most languages are only compatible with one specific platform, making it inconvenient when changes and updates are necessary. C# was designed to be platform independent, so it can run on any computer.

C# apps can be run on Mac, Linux, Windows operating systems and you can even use C# print PDFs in .NET applications with C# code. All you have to do is download the Print to PDF C# Library and then choose the PDF file and select the printer to print from.
