2023 BMW 7-Series Review

Overview:

The BMW 7-series, the company’s most opulent and technologically advanced vehicle, and longtime flagship sedan has undergone a complete generational change for the 2023 model year. The formula remains largely the same as the present model: powerplant options include an inline-six turbocharged and a twin-turbo V-8, with a plug-in hybrid joining the roster later. The 7-series truly floats down the road, as we discovered during our initial test drive. Due to modifications to the chassis and suspension, including a new rear-wheel steering system, it handles a touch more loosely than the 2022 vehicle. The car’s standout feature is a 31.3-inch rear entertainment display called Theater Screen that is an option and descends from the ceiling and streams TV and movies using the onboard Wi-Fi system. Although its driver assistance technology offers a hands-free driving mode for long highway drives, this feature is not standard.

performance, transmission, and the engine

Rear-wheel drive is the solely available configuration for this vehicle, which comes with a standard 375-hp turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six and a 48-volt hybrid system. The 740i will reach 60 mph in 5.0 seconds, according to BMW. The 760i xDrive has a twin-turbocharged 4.4-liter V-8 engine with 536 horsepower and standard all-wheel drive. This engine also uses a 48-volt hybrid system, and BMW claims it can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 4.2 seconds. The new vehicle includes air suspension as standard equipment, and BMW also built a rear-wheel steering system and variable dampers into the chassis. As a result, the new vehicle has a more nimble feel than the previous one while maintaining a comfort-first attitude.

Comparing the 2023 BMW 7-Series to Its Rivals

Since the big Benz has long been the standard-bearer for luxury sedans, the arrival of the new Mercedes-Benz S-Class is a monumental event that is undoubtedly being watched closely by rivals.

What about the electric EQS, a Benz car with a large battery and a gorgeous, expansive Hyperscreen environment, though? Though its driving experience leans far more toward comfort than performance, the Lexus LS isn’t shy about how it looks.

Instead of putting the internal room first, the Porsche Panamera puts handling and performance first.

Even though some may find the Audi RS7‘s appearance too understated, it is a viable option that is packed with technology and has excellent driving characteristics.

Transportation, Comfort, and Interior

The 7-series, the top model in the BMW lineup, offers a plethora of comforts to its passengers. The interior of the 7-series has a sophisticated feel thanks to luxurious materials like rich-smelling leather, stainless steel accents, and beautiful glass and wood trim elements. If it suits their tastes, purchasers may even select a new cashmere upholstery option. Both the front and rear seats offer plenty of room for passengers, but the 7-series really shines when it has the Executive Lounge package installed, which includes power-adjustable reclining rear seats with massage, a wireless smartphone charging pad for the backseat, and adjustable neck cushions on the headrests. A rear-seat pass-through allows you to transport longer goods like skis, and the trunk is about as big as you’d expect for a full-size luxury car.

Connectivity and Information

The 7-series has the same dashboard design as the iX SUV, which has a sizable digital gauge display set behind the same glass panel as the infotainment touchscreen. The reconfigurable displays provide sharp quality and quick responses. A large 31.3-inch display that extends from the car’s roof is used by the optional rear-seat entertainment system, known as Theater Screen by BMW. Rear-seat passengers may watch Netflix or browse the internet via an onboard 5G cellular data connection, interfacing with the system via touchscreen displays built into the door panels.
